Lake Level Update

As of June 1, Spring lake is at an elevation of 911.66 feet with Prior Lake at 903.50. Both lakes are currently on a downward trend. According to the National Weather Service, there is a very slight risk for a small amount of rain over the next few days. Although the potential for significant rain is low, the Prior Lake-Spring Lake Watershed District (PLSLWD) has secured permission from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources to place a temporary dam at the outlet of Spring Lake if we receive enough rain to raise Prior Lake near its Ordinary High Water level of 903.9 feet.

Due to the abnormally wet weather over the past year, our local water bodies remain at risk for flooding. City and PLSLWD staff will continue to monitor the lake levels and precipitation. The City is prepared respond to potential flooding events. Please refer to www.plslwd.org or www.cityofpriorlake.com for the latest information.
